WHY JOIN GLOBAL COMPACT NETWORK PHILIPPINES?

The Local Network can assist in connecting the local members to the 76 UN Global Compact local networks across the globe so that companies and other stakeholders can learn or work with other organizations to achieve common goals in achieving the 17 SDGs in their respective countries. 

 GCNP has developed a strong relationship with the UN System in the Philippines by being privileged to have the Executive Representative of the UN Secretary General UN Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of UNDP, Mr. Ola Almgren as its Board of Trustee Adviser. GCNP has also been appointed as part of the Sustainability Council of UNDP. In view of this GCNP has access to the different UN Agencies for collaboration. 

GCNP members provides the channel for local companies to collaborate with lead companies such as the Ayala Corporation, Nestle Philippines, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, Manila Doctors, Landbank of the Philippines and also other leading organizations and companies that are like-minded in working together to improve the sustainability of the communities they work with.

GCNP has developed a Principle-Based SDG Workshop that is based on the UN Global Compact’s SDG Blueprint, UN Global Compact’s Goals and Targets, UN Global Compact’s SDG Matrix and utilizing the UNGC Case studies as well as local best practices from companies who are already practicing SDG programs . 

As a member, one can have the opportunity to be nominated as an SDG Pioneer and be recognized globally. In 2017, we had the honor of having one of our founding members , Mr. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Corporation , to be recognized as one of the 10 SDG Pioneers and the first in Southeast Asia.

Once approved, the local network directory will be updated and you will be invited to the many activities of the Local Network as well as the Global activities.
